This Privacy Policy accurately documents the implemented technical data handling of the AyuNitya application and website. Prior to production publication, final commercial entity details should be verified by legal counsel.
1. Overview and Core Philosophy
AyuNitya ("we", "our", or "us") provides an educational mobile application and personal wellness journaling companion rooted in classical Ayurvedic science. We recognize the deeply personal nature of health, lifestyle routines, and wellness reflections.
Your wellness reflections and daily routines are strictly private. AyuNitya is not an advertising platform or social network. We do not sell your personal data, profile information, or reflection journals to data brokers, marketers, or third parties.
2. Information We Collect and Process
We collect only the information necessary to provide authentication, save your educational bookmarks, synchronize your daily routines across devices, and preserve your reflection journal:
A. Account & Profile Information
When you register using email and password, we collect your display name, email address, and an encrypted (hashed) password. When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we receive your verified Google email address, display name, Google user identifier, and Google profile picture URL.
B. Profile Photos
You may optionally upload a custom profile photo using the device photo picker or choose to display your Google profile avatar. Uploaded photos are stored on our secure storage server and used solely for your in-app avatar display.
C. Daily Dinacharya & Habits
We store the names, time-of-day categories, scheduled days, and completion records of your personal Dinacharya habits to provide habit progress tracking. Local reminder times are scheduled on your mobile device.
D. Personal Journal Entries & Reflections
Your reflection titles, notes, and Ayurvedic wellness tags (e.g., Vata, Digestion, Sleep) are stored securely and tied strictly to your authenticated account ID. Journal entries are private by design and never publicly discoverable or indexed.
E. Bookmarks & Reading Progress
We record which educational articles you mark as bookmarked or completed to help you track your learning journey through our classical curriculum.
F. Local Device Settings
Your preferred language (English, Hindi, Punjabi) and appearance preference (Light, Dark, System) are stored locally in device storage (SharedPreferences) to ensure consistent user experience even before network requests occur.
3. Data Storage, Security & Third Parties
Backend Hosting: Transmitted account data, routines, and journal records are stored in our relational database hosted on managed servers. Communication between the mobile application and the backend API is protected in transit via HTTPS / TLS encryption.
Third-Party Integrations: We use Google OAuth API (google_sign_in) solely to authenticate users securely. We do not use third-party behavioral analytics, ad tracking SDKs (e.g. Facebook SDK), or surveillance tracking tools.
Limitations: While we employ industry-standard access tokens (Laravel Sanctum) and hashed credentials (Bcrypt), no method of electronic transmission or cloud storage is 100% impenetrable. We encourage you to choose a unique, strong password.
4. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your personal data only for as long as your account remains active. You maintain total ownership over your data:
- In-App Deletion: You can delete your account at any time by navigating to Profile > Delete Account.
- Web Deletion Entry Point: If you have uninstalled the application, you can submit a deletion request via our public Account Deletion Page.
- Immediate Cleanup: Deleting your account permanently erases your user profile, custom uploaded avatar files, external OAuth identities, all Dinacharya routine items, completion history, bookmarks, and private reflection journals. Shared educational library articles remain unaffected as they are public guides not authored by users.
5. Children's Privacy
AyuNitya is designed for general audiences and wellness seekers aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal data, we will promptly delete it.
